check product compatibility
before starting, ensure that all materials—tile, substrate, thinset, and grout—are compatible. inspect all materials for defects and ensure they meet your project’s requirements.
first: create a dry layout. then double & triple check!
perform a dry layout or mockup to confirm your tile arrangement, grout joint size, and overall appearance before getting started. it can be extremely time consuming to fix a mistake after starting!
example: consider the color choice of your thinset, tiles and grout (i.e. don't use grey thinset if using white grout or tiles, instead use a white thinset!)
items needed for success:
• tiles
• thinset
• grout
• thinset trowel(s)
• spacers & levelling kit
• clean & durable sponges (get an extra !)
• clean buckets
• tile saw & tile hole saw
• cleaners
• sealers
